About AED（AEDについて）

AED（Automated External Defibrillator）is a device that allows a heart with potentially life threatening cardiac arrhythmias to turn to a normal condition by applying electric shocks. AED are designed to be used by virtually anyone with little or no experience. An AED will automatically analyze the electrocardiogram waveform of the patient and decide whether or not electrical defibrillation treatment is required. AED will give you the necessary instructions by voice. Recently, AED have been installed in many places such as stations, airports and so on.
 

AED（Automated External Defibrillator）とは心臓に電気ショックをあたえて、心臓を動かす機械のことです。

誰でも簡単に使えるように作られています。コンピューターが自動的に必要性を判断し、音声で必要な処置を指示してくれます。

現在、空港や駅など人が多く集まる場所に、設置が進んでいます。 

How to use an AED（AEDの使い方）

AED should be applied for a person with a cardiac arrest, unconscious and not breathing

1. Turn on the AED
2. Attach the electrode pads to patients. See the visual instruction on the AED box.
3. Plug the Pad’s cable into the AED machine.
4. AED will analyze if he/she needs electrical shocks. Please do not touch the patient while it is analyzing.
5. If AED indicate that electric shock is required, press the shock button on AED.
6. Perform CPR (artificial respiration and chest compression) and electrical shocks continuously until AED says “stop”.
7. Do not remove the electrode pads and leave AED on until the emergency service comes.
    

突然、心停止を起こした人に使用できます。呼びかけに反応がなく、呼吸もない人が対象です。 

1. AEDの電源を入れる。
2. 電極パットを肌に直接貼る。パットが入っていた袋に絵が描いてあるので、確認しましょう。
3. パットのケーブルを本体に差し込みます。
4. 機械が、電気ショックが必要か判断します。患者に触れないでください。
5. ショックが必要な場合、ショックボタンを押してください。
6. 患者の意識が戻るまで、心肺蘇生（人工呼吸と心臓マッサージ）とAEDの手順を繰り返します。
7. 救急隊がかけつけるまで、電極パットはつけたままにし、AEDの電源もつけたままにします。

NOTICE（注意点）

• Do not use on children below the age of one.
• Water prevents giving effective electric treatment to a patient, so wipe the body with dry towels and then apply pads to the body.
• If you find a bump around his/her chest, the patient might have a cardiac pacemaker. In that case, please attach the electric pads 3 centimeters away from the bump.
• Take off all metallic jewelries. If it is difficult to take them off, attach the electric pads on the part far from them as much as possible.
   
• 1歳未満の子どもに対して、使用してはいけません。
• 水は厳禁です。乾いたタオルなどでふき取ってから、パットを貼りましょう。
• 胸にこぶのような硬いでっぱりがあった場合、心臓ペースメーカーの可能性があります。でっぱりから3センチメートルほど離れたところに、パットを貼って下さい。
• 金属製アクセサリーをしていた場合、すぐに取り外しましょう。難しければ、パットから出来るだけ遠ざけましょう。
